Manifesting Technique: Curate Your News Feed

Manifesting Technique: Curate Your News Feed

Recently I realised that my Facebook news feed had become the virtual equivalent of a mailbox stuffed with junky catalogues. Each time I logged into my profile, I’d see ads, a ton of clickbait stories, and personal updates from far-removed acquaintances — all of which meant very little to me. So I spent a few weeks curating my Facebook feed by proactively unfollowing everything that failed to enrich my life.

It took some time (apparently I followed a ton of pages that loved to spam), but I’m starting to see positive results. Now when I log into Facebook, I mostly see posts that inspire me and broaden my thinking.

One particularly delightful outcome of this effort is that I’m seeing posts from Humans of New York on a daily basis (inspiring stories that make me feel so many beautiful emotions — I’ve included one of their more recent posts for you to check out, below).

I’m sharing this because taking the time to curate my news feed made me a lot happier. In turn, this has allowed me to remain in a higher vibration, because I’m surrounded by inspiring content when I log into my social media accounts.

It’s simple to do, and I hope this method inspires you. If what you see when you log into Facebook isn’t doing it for you, I highly recommend you take some time to do the same — even if that means blocking me from your Facebook feed!

Oh, and there’s absolutely no need to curate your feed so that it populates with ‘inspiring’ or ‘positive’ things. If you want to get fit, you might want to curate it so that you only see things related to sports, health, or wellbeing. If you want to fill your feed with video games – do that. If you want to fill it with hotties – do that. If, for whatever reason, you want to fill it with things that make you feel melancholy (maybe it helps with your creative process) – you’re welcome to do that, too.

This is your life. You get to choose your own adventure. And best of all, you get to choose what you want to manifest.

Making small tweaks like this to the environments that you swim in on a daily basis (physical and virtual) can have a huge impact on your vibration, your wellbeing, and your life as a whole.

Here’s a recent Facebook post from Humans of New York, a Facebook page that shares beautiful photos and vignettes from people’s lives. Their posts are insightful, beautiful, and touching.

“I’ve been having nerve issues, and this past year it’s gotten so bad that it hurts too much for me to walk. It was completely unexpected. I’ve always been such an optimistic person, but now I’m fighting with depression. He’s doing everything he can to take my mind off of it. We’re not sure if I’m going to get better, but he’s planning a backpacking tour through Europe for when I do. And I told him that I didn’t think I could handle a visit to New York right now, but he told me that he’d push me around the whole city. And he has. And whenever I feel particularly down, he tells me that he’s not going anywhere, and how happy he is that he married me. Not long ago I had a particularly rough period, and when I was at one of my lowest moments, he asked if we could renew our vows.”
